First Day of Pre-K
Last Day week Pre-K
Mrs.Givens and Mrs.Franklin
Last Day of Pre-K, here I come Kindergarten!
Raquel did well in Pre K. She is now a reader. She is reading level 1 books with ease and started on 2 with a few challenges. In my parent teacher meeting she expressed that Raquel is a quick learner but can be a bit umm not sure what to call it. For example, when she was being tested to see if she has learned her numbers 1-20 she began with 1....2... mmm what comes after 2? Tapping her chin. Oh yes 3,4,5...mmm 6 I think. The teacher didn't let her finish but marked her as passed. Silly girl. The other concern she has is how she wants to please those around her. To the point that the teacher was trying to help her say no to friends. I am thankful for that. The other thing could be funny but has me a bit worried is that she is boy crazy! So much so that it is a distraction. Mrs. Givens one day separated her and another boy. Raquel was not happy with this at all. So when she was given the assignment to cut shapes she butchered the paper and the shapes looked like a two year old cut them out. A bit passive aggressive I would say. (Oh, God. Please help me!!)
We registered her for kindergarten. She is super shy in new situations and large groups. She likes to be a wing man. So I hope she buddies up with a good kid. And above that I can help her not be a follower. That I think concerns me more than her being able to learn.
Till than we will just enjoy our summer.
