Way past Raquel's bedtime we found ourselves at the dinner table eating a late night snack. Noodles, cheese and crackers. Raquel was taking it very slow. Than she pointed to me and said "You a doctor." So I went with it and checked her heart. It was in good running order but I told her it would be stronger if she ate a cracker. With out hesitation she gobbled it up. Than she stated "You a mama dragon, I baby dragon" I thought well if she ate that cracker I should play along and we could finish this plate and go to bed. I told her that baby dragons love noodles. We made all the silly sounds you can make when sucking up long noodles. The game continued than Dad joined in. The plate was finally cleared and it was now time for bed. I asked who she wanted to take her to bed. Daddy dragon or Mama dragon. She exclaimed "Daddy dragon!" Than in a quite voice I told her "Do you know that dragons fly? Do you want to fly to bed?" Raquel squealed and Dad swooped her up into the air. She made small flapping motions and a sounds of a dragon out of the kitchen down the hall and into bed. Upon closing the door and saying goodnight she let out one last giggle.
Oh, she melts our hearts!
